During the attack on 9/11/2001, I found myself at the White House, standing shoulder to shoulder with our nation’s highest leaders, where I witnessed a complete breakdown in our national command authority’s response to the terrorist attack. If it weren’t for the incredible bravery of our citizens, our country would have suffered even more loss of life that tragic day.

The culprit: poor crisis communications, crisis leadership, professional accountability, slow decision-making, a lack of situational awareness, and a failure to imagine that it could happen to us in the first place.

Like many of you, I was changed forever. Those events led me to write my book, study crisis leadership, become a keynote speaker, and ultimately start Flash Emergency Management. We provide business continuity planning, crisis leadership training, and secure crisis communication technology (Flash Whyspr) to help small and medium-sized businesses become more resilient.

As a nation, we will never forget, and we must never be caught unprepared again. We believe in “leadership when leadership matters most.”

After 34 years in global security systems design and planning, I’ve witnessed incredible advancements, met extraordinary technology and operations leaders, and gained invaluable experience across the globe.

Then, we created CoSpatia to tackle fragmented data and teamwork hurdles, integrating diverse datasets into a seamless, real-time collaboration platform.

Together, they bridge the gap, delivering actionable spatial insights for smarter, faster decisions.

Opportunity fueled my vision. There was no easy-to-learn, rapid 3D modeling solution for floor plans—let alone one that’s instantly shareable on any device, anytime.

I set out to build a real-time, modern platform that empowers teams to sell, design, estimate, build, and manage with unprecedented efficiency.

The result? A disruptive “living floor plan” solution, designed for people who work with properties every day.

With over two decades of experience as a California patrol officer, investigations detective, and SWAT hostage operative, plus 18 years of conducting emergency planning and risk & vulnerability assessments, I have seen firsthand the challenges posed by a lack of immediate access to accurate, up-to-date information.

In many high-stakes situations, these gaps in information have created unnecessary risks, heightened dangers, and inflated costs.

Recognizing this gap, I led the development of CRT911 Software—an innovative solution that transformed our approach to emergency response.
